Embodying Stillness: Somatic Movement and Creative Awakening for the Winter Solstice

As the year winds down and the longest night approaches, Embodying Stillness offers a

sanctuary of quiet renewal - a space to unwind, release tension, and reconnect with the

body’s innate wisdom. Rooted in the symbolism of the Winter Solstice, this workshop

honors the pause between darkness and light, guiding participants to rediscover

balance, ease, and creative awakening from within.

Blending somatic movement, creative visualization, and intuitive coloring, the session

leads participants from inner busyness into embodied awareness and self-expression.

Through Kristen’s original somatic movement practice, participants are guided to

release tension, reconnect with their bodies, and experience stillness emerging from

within. From this embodied place, participants are guided inward to sense color, shape,

or imagery arising within, then express what they discover through creative exploration -

using pages from The Wild & The Divine coloring book or blank paper to bring their

inner experience to life.

Through movement and creation, participants reconnect with stillness as a source of

balance, clarity, and light.

No prior experience in art or movement is needed - just comfortable clothing and

curiosity.

Participants will leave with:

• A grounded sense of calm and release amid the holiday season

• A creative expression or image reflecting renewal and the light returning within

• Simple, somatic tools for awareness and creative balance

Duration: 2 hours

Materials Provided: All art materials will be provided. Participants are encouraged to

bring a yoga mat and bolster for comfort; a limited number of mats will be available to

borrow.
